It’s been a while since I’ve posted here and there are various reasons. Over the last year I’ve been incredibly busy and while I’ve taken time to play the new games I’ve had so much other stuff to do that sitting down at a computer and trying to use my brain when it seems that’s all I do outside gaming made me want to pull my hair out.
But lately I’ve been talking about games on Facebook and wanting share my love of gaming with others. And, let’s be honest, Facebook is great for getting back in touch with people you’ve lost contact with, but not so great to spread the good word about the coolest games you played and your favorite gaming moments.
I will link periodically to my friend’s video reviews because they are pretty funny and he definitely knows what he likes and dislikes about games.
So I hope to see more of you returning to both this blog and the main blog, Visual Crack as I throw myself back into entertainment review blogging.

I haven’t posted here in the last couple of days and I apologize. This weekend I was a bit busy and exhausted from lack of sleep and my internet connection has been running about as well as a drunk Irishman after their team comes out on top at a football game. So I hope you’ll understand why I haven’t been here.
I would like to make the announcement (to those who haven’t visited Visual Crack this will be news) that the remaining posts regarding my “Most Anticipated Games of 2008″ will be released at the rate of one every Wednesday at 12:00pm MDT. This week you can look forward to my thoughts on LittleBigPlanet.
As far as my progress on Fallout is concerned, I haven’t played much (see comments above regarding this weekend but I’m hoping to get a chance to really sit down and play this week.
As pointed out over at Visual Crack, I’ve fallen behind the curve in gaming news. Killzone 2 is being dropped from my “Most Anticipated 2008″ list because it’s been pushed back to 2009.
But, as I also pointed out over at Visual Crack, you don’t have to worry if you were hoping to read my thoughts on Killzone 2 because I’m currently compiling my “Most Anticipated 2009″ list, which I will release after my 2008 series of posts.
Just for all you Fallout folks I found this to be incredibly amusing. I know you probably won’t believe me, but I found it hilarious and I’m almost positive you will to (unless my sense of humor is just way off, in which case, I’m terribly, terribly sorry).
Look very closely at the image below (ignore my amateur photoshop job) and tell me you don’t recognize that picture. I made that as an alternate banner before I started playing the first Fallout. I’m not lying, I swear. Click for larger size if you need to.

I’m what you would call a newbie when it comes to Photoshop. Until recently the most I’d really used it for was to resize pictures. I never knew how to make those really cool banners I’d see on other people’s blogs or even do very simple effects. It seemed like learning it would take forever and whenever I tried to read about doing anything I’d end up confusing myself.
My Photoshopping ability still leaves a lot to be desired, but I’m finally getting the hang of it (a little, at least). I’ve been messing around with the banner for this blog (with some helpful hints from Dee) and it’s not too shabby if I do say so myself.
If you have any tips or comments that could help me in my quest to become a better user of the Photoshop I would greatly appreciate it. I can mess around with it and learn that way (like I did with HTML) but getting help from people who really know how to use it really cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend in frustration. That translates to more time for gaming and blogging about games.
I think I should probably make a comment here in regards to flamewars and fanboyism (just to head off any inevitable fights between the factions in the comments).
My first game console was an original NES. I loved that thing and wouldn’t mind having it back. My second console was a Sega Genesis, a system I would also like to have again. My cousins had an SNES so I played that, too. Another cousin of mine introduced me to the wonders of the original Playstation when it came out and I was hooked. My family never owned one, but about a year or so after the Playstation 2 was released I bought one of those. Ever since then I’ve been pretty much a Playstation person.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to get an XBox 360. There are some games that I’d love to get that are only on Microsoft’s system, but at this point I can’t justify the expense. I’ve got plenty of games that keep me busy on my PS3 so I can wait to play Gears of War and Bioshock. For all you Nintendo fans I’ll just come right out and say I never plan on owning a Wii, not because I think the system sucks, but because I haven’t seen any games on the Wii that I want that I can’t get on my PS3.
Everybody’s got a preference, and I’ll flat out admit that Sony has been my crack dealer of choice for years now. That doesn’t mean I can’t like or dislike the other systems based on specs and game selection, not just because somebody else makes it.
So, my #1 Rule on this blog will be No Flamewars, Flamebaiting, or Name-calling. It’s annoying, pointless, and it’s my blog so what I say goes. I reserve the right to delete comments after fair warning to the commenter to clean up his/her act. I’m not one for censorship, but since this is my area I do get to enforce certain rules and I don’t want to read through such stunningly insightful comments as “PS3 sux! XBox 360 rules all!” or comments containing profanity (this blog, as a companion to Visual Crack, is a family-friendly blog).

There’s so much Dee and I wanted to do with Visual Crack that we decided we need a couple of sub-blogs for those areas of entertainment that are passions of ours. Mine is gaming. I’ll be posting about games at Visual Crack, but for more in-depth thoughts on games and gaming in general, this is the place to be.
